          Malaysia's population is projected to increase from 28.6 million (2010) to 41.5 million (2040). This trend is expected to continue in line with population growth. Thus, this led to a competing access of food supplies, nutrition and food security to the population.

          The main challenges in Malaysia food security can be identified by three major causes:
          Realignment of national policies form agricultural based to industrial based
          Conversion of Agricultural Land
          Increased Imports for Food

          There is an urgent need to improve agricultural system in Malaysia due to the food crisis and socio-economic needs to sustain food supply in future
