DescriptionMost PET bottles are used once and thrown away in dumping sites, with minimal to no recycling. People are not incentivized to collect trash and dump it because it has a very small perceived impact on the environment. Waste workers are unable to find all the littered PET bottles since there is no indexable way to find them.
The trash collective has two components:
First, it rewards people to tag and dispose of plastic bottles, the points provided in these rewards can be exchanged for points with potential local and global partners that emphasize action for rewards (Eg. global citizen). All you need to do is text our live number with a picture of a PET bottle.
Second, we provide waste workers with a data visualization platform that allows them to go to the nearest littered bottle, pick it up, and drop it off at a nearby recycling station. The workers are able to update the dataset of litter in real-time as they do clean the streets.
