          Description

One of the key pieces of information that the agriculture sector is completely dependent on is consistent and reliable weather information. From the growth cycle to harvesting, every single action that is to be taken in agriculture is dependent on this weather information. For example, in Bangladesh, rice cultivation is dependent on rainfall and farmers who are able to time their crops with rainfall will get the best harvest. This requires an insight into the weather and its patterns for maximising overall production and reducing overall spending. Understanding the weather and making decisions based on accurate predictions will allow the best harvest and best utility of resources even after harvest to reduce wastage and production loss to a minimum.

Astha is a solution for farmers which utilises weather data, agro data and performs forecasting/predictions  to ensure the farmers what to do for their step by step for their daily agricultural work. It will help them to plan when to plant the seeds at the right time and when to give fertilizers and when to harvest in simple language reducing complexity and cluttering of data and their models.

Astha is a hyper localized application which helps the farmers with the data of their location.

The  recommendation system for the farmers are personalised to the  individuals farmer’s needs. The application is an open data platform with recommendation system integrated for the users.

For the farming community, we will have a service that will give all sorts of weather and weather related information to them. This will cover everything from daily and weekly forecasts to details like humidity, wind, sunlight strength, precipitation, temperature, flash flooding etc. The data model's output will be open for all.
