          Description

As climate change continues to pose deep challenge across the world and it's negative impact is regarded as a contributor to the humanitarian emergency around the world, therefore there is the need to provide and make available resources to help in prevention and in preparedness and response to climate disaster risk reduction, especially in developing countries who are the most vulnerable. Engaging millions of citizens across the globe to address the climate issues and harnessing their potential can help create great impact in addressing climate crisis. Only digital technology has such a power to provide us with the platform that we need to effectively address the climate crisis and to build the foundation for sustainable development. The RepClime App is a simple mobile phone application that addresses the issue of climate change, it was developed as a real-time reporting system that empowers people to take climate action by becoming environmental stewards and advocates who share live reports through the app on climate incidents and ecological disaster happening within their respective locations or regions. Its operating system of the app is linked to the The Global Positioning System (GPS). This initiative will enable citizens, investors, governments and organizations get live report on ecological incidents or disaster and better understand the impact of climate change. In addition it helps relevant stakeholders prioritize their investments and enhance the adaptational approach towards climate disaster risk reduction management and resilience, using the data and analysis provided by the RepClime App. This app can easily be integrated into the land-based telecommunication system in any nation (phones). The application can also assist in bridging the gap between the farmers and the agriculture ministries by collecting environmental data that can be used to strengthen their adaptational skills which will be helpful in their farming practice and all these informations can be processed in real time during extreme weather times. In conclusion, the RepClime App can operate as an alert warning system for citizens and potential tourists visiting vulnerable nations affected by unusual weather patterns. The tourism sector is the second beneficiary of this app as it will keep tourists updated in real-time, while warning host communities in the area to stay safe.
