    Reboot the Ocean

Reboot the Ocean challenge aims to bring youth together to improve upon existing technology or to develop new solutions that address current challenges to the health of oceans.

The top-ranking solutions from around the world will be selected to participate in the #RebootTheOcean Innovathon in Lisbon, Portugal (May 31-June 1) on the sideline of the United Nations Ocean Conference, 2-6 June 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Reboot the Ocean is a call for applications initiated by the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology, the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Ocean Conference, and the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for the Ocean, in partnership with SAP.

The five tipping points listed below represent a set of tangible objectives to address ocean sustainability challenges and are interlinked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly to SDG 14 Life Below Water. The tipping points were identified by the 2019 UN Global Compact report, Global Goals, Ocean Opportunities, which was produced in consultation with over 300 stakeholders.

Click on each tipping point and learn how you can participate in developing solutions for a healthy and productive ocean.
