Solution descriptionWe often hear that the current teaching is not playful and attractive enough for young people; they loose motivation and attention especially when not directly engaged in their learning process.
People learn the most when they play, thus learning is inherently playful. 3D learning is a solution based on Augmented Reality (AR), addressing youngsters from age 13 to 18, aiming to make the learning of abstract concepts more playful through AR textbook and AR note-taking.
3D learning is also based on the idea of using a ring-based sensor system as an AR marker together with the cardboard eyewear to provide students with an economic-efficient solution and a gesture control device, which enables them to control objects interactively and intuitively. For instance, they can zoom, rotate, and screenshot. This technical combination is unique as it allows learners to interact with the learning content and it is innovative as it offers a widely available use of emerging Mixed Reality technology in learning.
The solution implementation is feasible as based on resources already available to the target group and has potential if supported by high-quality technologies.
