Description
With my animation I tried to show the contrast between the vulnerability of the displaced people and the loud, often disproportionate voices of the conservative media and right-wing protest groups. My approach was to show the faces of the people who have to leave their countries because of war and conflict, and then show the headlines and shouts in a harsh contrast to that. The headlines are all taken from real British newspapers, which were published during the latest refugee crisis that reached Europe. The shouts at the end were also taken from real rallies in Britain, one from the right-wing National Front and the other ones come from the opposing protestors. Even though my animation shows mainly the British media and public voices, the situation is similar all over Europe. I feel like, instead of listening to the negative voices, that are unfortunately always so much louder, the people should take a look at the reality. I wanted to create an emotional piece that exposes the cruelty and populism of the conservative media and right-wing voices.
