    <p><img src="/images//static/files/2266/Untitled_presentation_%281%29__1571044608026.png" alt="" width="960" height="540" /></p><p><span style="color:#000000"><strong><span style="font-size:24px">Crowdsourcing evidence and best practices on the benefits of diversity and inclusion in emerging technologies</span> </strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">Share data, evidence and best practice which will be featured in The Inclusion and Diversity Report. This report will guide companies, entrepreneurs, and start-ups to strengthen their impact through diversity and inclusive strategies and will presented at an unofficial Slush Side Event.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080"></span></p><p><span style="font-size:19px;color:#000000"><strong>The Impact</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">1. Have focussed discussions at Slush on how to increase job opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds and disadvantaged or marginalised communities;<br />2. Increase diverse talent in their businesses which they may have otherwise overlooked.<br />3. Reduce the level of biases in technology through the case studies and best practices</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color:#000000"><strong><span style="font-size:19px">#MakeTechInclusive</span> </strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">The 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals have been widely embraced. The private sector has a key role to play in delivering the SDGs. Guided by the principle of “Leave No One Behind”, the United Nations Technology Innovation Lab (UNTIL) Finland wants to show companies, entrepreneurs and start-ups that being inclusive and diverse in your workforce, organisation and in your technology, is critical to both your revenue, survival, and sustainability. </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">The two scopes of inclusivity and diversity that the report tackles are:</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080"><strong>Internal</strong>: What is the proof that having a diverse workforce and office culture better helps achieve both economic and social impact? What are the best examples and successful techniques to do so?</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080"><strong>External</strong>: How can technology be inclusive and not leave people behind? We want to hear about examples of technology which has reduced marginalisation, improved equality, and included people or groups who without the technology, would not have had a voice.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080"></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">.</span><span style="font-size:19px;color:#000000"><strong>How can you contribute?</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">Some examples of contributions can be:</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">a. proven key facts or data on the societal and economic benefits of diversity and inclusion<br /></span><span style="color:#808080">b. best practices and case studies at existing organizations<br />c. examples of inclusive technologies that have reduced marginalisation, improved equality, and included people or groups who without the technology, would not have had a voice.</span><span style="color:#808080"></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">These facts should be ‘concretised’ where possible in terms of monetary, societal, environmental, and social impacts. </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">The data, evidence and best practice submitted through this challenge will be reviewed by a panel of reviewers.  UNTIL will then compile key or critical information in to an Inclusion & Diversity report.  <strong>The contributions and the individuals/organizations who shared data and best practice will be cited or featured in the Report. The report is being compiled in partnership with UNAIDS, The World Economic Forum, OECD and Miltton.</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">The Diversity and Inclusion Report will be released on Nov 18th 2019 at the Miltton headquarters in Helsinki. This will be an unofficial Slush Side Event.<br /></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080"></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000"><strong><span style="font-size:19px">Challenge Phases & Timeline</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">All times are in (EEST), Helsinki time zone.</span><br /><br /><strong><span style="color:#808080">1. Gather and submit the evidence.</span></strong><br /><span style="color:#808080">Read the challenge description above and start gathering the concrete facts and evidence that could contribute to The Diversity and Inclusion Report. You have until Oct 31st at <strong>10:00 h (10 AM)</strong> to submit your contribution online by clicking on “Post Idea”. </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080">We encourage submitting contributions as early as possible.</span><br /><br /><strong><span style="color:#808080">2. Sharing Featured Solution.</span></strong><br /><span style="color:#808080">The selected provided evidence and examples to be featured in The Diversity and Inclusion Report will be announced on Nov 18th at 13:30. The featured individuals or organizations will also be provided with a digital copy of the report. </span></p><p><br /><strong><span style="color:#000000;font-size:19px">Get started!</span></strong><br /><br /><span style="color:#808080">Register to the Unite Ideas website, and then starting from 14 October until 31 October click on "Post Idea”.
