Re-Fashion

Nowadays the consumption of products has been banalized, especially in the fashion sector and millions of people buy new clothes every day without making full use of their old clothes.  Also, there are many people that don not feel comfortable with this intense habit of consumption and brought up the subject of “why there is not another option?”. We thought of an idea that aims to reutilize those clothes forgotten in the wardrobe while turning it into a circular economy.

Inditex is the company behind widely known brands such as Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Pull and Bear, Stradivarius and Bershka; It is one of the world's largest fashion retailers. We thought of this company to make our idea come true - The idea is to create a store with a catchy new name like “Re-Fashion”, that will be part of the Inditex Group, and in that store, there will be sold clothes from other seasons of the Inditex Group’s fashion brands. Therefore, there will be separated sections for each brand. People that own clothes from Inditex could contact the store and give the clothes they do not want anymore (receiving a percentage of money), and those clothes would go through an evaluation process in which only the clothes in good preservation would be exposed in the store to be sold. The clothes that did not pass through the evaluation can be used to make new clothes, creating a new section in the store called “New Me”; the previous “owners” of those clothes will be updated on the status of their clothes. Talented people that are specialized in the fashion and textiles industries could work specially to give that “New Me” section a fresh and cool vibe.

This idea can bring a huge amount of benefits as nowadays people search for new, alternatives and revolutionary experiences. It is important to mention that young generations are very into fashion, so they feel the need to be on the line with the actual fashion trends. The idea of this project presents a valid solution for this consumerism problem; Putting an end to consumption is a radical idea and If we cannot stop it, we must take advantage of it and reutilize/recycle products. People can keep their fashion lifestyle while recycling/selling their old clothes. Inditex is a widely known company which can be considered a main factor for this project to succeed. Consumers trust in this label and we have seen Inditex embracing ONU causes to help poor children.
